East Village Downtown San Diego

East Village is the largest neighborhood in downtown San Diego and is located in east downtown and west of interstate 5. It is adjacent to Cortez Hill, Columbia, the Gaslamp District, and a small portion of the Marina District. East Village was formerly an area full of warehouses and vacant lots. Today, the warehouses are converted lofts and residences, and there are plenty of mid-rise complexes, luxury condominiums, and lofts.  East Village is also the center for arts, culture, and education and home to Petco Park, which was built in 2004.
